Manhattan Experts with De Quervain’s Injections, performed by Matthew Spiegel, MD
Overview:
De Quervain’s tenosynovitis is an inflammatory condition that affects the tendons of the wrist and thumb. Injections may be used to treat De Quervain’s, which contain a mix of a corticosteroid (a type of anti-inflammatory medication) and a local anesthetic. The injection is administered into the sheath that surrounds the affected tendons to reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation in the wrist and thumb.
