Expert Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) Treatment in Manhattan, Provided by Matthew Spiegel, MD

Overview:

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a condition that affects the hand and wrist, caused by compression of the median nerve. The median nerve runs through a small tunnel in the wrist, called the carpal tunnel, and controls movement and sensation in the thumb, index, middle, and part of the ring finger. Symptoms of CTS include numbness, tingling, and weakness in the hand and fingers, as well as pain and stiffness in the wrist and hand. CTS is often caused by repetitive motions, such as typing or using tools, as well as other factors such as arthritis, diabetes, and pregnancy.
