Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, is a condition that causes pain in the outer elbow area that radiates to the forearm. Other symptoms include a limited range of motion and difficulty with certain movements such as griping objects or twisting motion. Overuse and repetitive movements, notoriously such as the backhand tennis movement, are the main causes of this condition. Other risk factors include obesity, smoking and lifting heavy weights.
