Manhattan Experts with Maxillary Nerve Blocks, performed by Matthew Spiegel, MD

The maxillary nerve is a branch of the trigeminal nerve, one of the head’s largest nerves. The maxillary nerve provides sensation to the upper jaw, cheek, upper lip, and nose. For patients suffering from pain in this area, oftentimes due to trigeminal neuralgia or dental pains, the maxillary nerve block may provide relief. Many times, the maxillary and mandibular nerves are blocked together.
